A sweet spot in Chicago

I took a quick break to head outside and found this sweet spot in the city for one of my favorite subjects. Ok, two of my favorite subjects: architecture and reflections.

A few minutes break from a conference is all it takes.

A couple of months ago I met up with a friend at a conference in Chicago. For me, it’s an hour or so train ride and I hadn’t seen him in a few years.

He was busy working for most of the time so I spent some time wandering the exhibits. It was too nice to stay inside though so I ventured out the front of the hotel.

All it took was a quick left turn around the corner and I found this amazing, reflective building. I can not pass up a good reflection.

Those window washers were up there were a bonus. They helped add interest and scale to the images.

The red section of the building was an awesome pop of color. It set off this yellow sculpture so well.

I could have spent much more time exploring this one building and its surroundings. So many opportunities in this one sweet spot.
