Back in 2014, we went on a photography tour/workshop to Belgium. These are a few random images of the time we spent in Brussels. What a beautiful city. My husband and I still talk about going back at some point.
Brussels is another European city where many people travel by bicycle. They make for great photography subjects.
The Grand Place
For this shot, I wanted something a bit different so I put my camera on the ground. The cobblestones are part of the character of this central square in Brussels.
This Arik Levy Rock Growth Sculpture was near the Atomium and was fun to photograph.
It was the perfect contrast to the Atomium. I loved finding different reflections in it to go with the red/orange color.
Triumphal Arch
The Cinquantenaire’s triple arcade, 30-metre-wide (98 ft) and 45-metre-high (148 ft) has three bays of equal dimensions. The ceiling of the arcade, whose arches are semi-circular, is made up of stone caissons decorated, half of them with a laurel wreath, and the rest with the acronym meaning “The King, and Law, and Liberty!” one of Belgium’s official pledges.
Delirium Cafe
Delirium Village boasts over 2,000 beers and much more.
I loved that there was a bike just parked outside.
Our Blessed Lady Of The Sablon Church
The Church of Our Blessed Lady of the Sablon is a Roman Catholic church from the 15th century located in the Sablon/Zavel district in the historic center of Brussels.
Cinquantenaire Park — Architectural details
This is above the entrance to the military museum. So many details.
Waiting for a bus
I could not resist this character with the shadows and lines of the bus stop shelter.
A little long exposure in Grand Place at night this time.
The Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert
Three shopping arcades. To think this has been here since the mid-1800s is amazing.
I hope you enjoyed a bit of Brussels. It is a wonderful city to wander around.
