Day 4 – The Lake

Buttermere Lake

Buttermere Lake

When I started going through the images from our trip, I thought I’d do a post for each day. I don’t want to overload the posts with images, so I’m going to break the days up into sections or locations. It will be a lot simpler that way.

The Lake District covers 912 square miles. We were there for three days and barely covered any ground. We did go in with a little bit of a plan. A couple of people I met on Substack are from the area and suggested Buttermere as a beautiful lake and an easy hike.

After the harrowing drive from Ullswater, we welcomed the serene lake and beautiful lake path. We wandered for a couple of hours and headed back a different way. My posts here are much more photo essays and not the details of our daily adventures. Check out Mike’s blog below for the write-ups.

Buttermere Lake is definitely somewhere I’d love to go back to in different seasons.
