Fifteen Minutes at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis

We were in the Minneapolis area visiting friends for a long weekend. Most of our time was spent with them and exploring the area near where they live.

We took part of one day to head into Minneapolis proper as there were a few items on my To Photograph list. The US Bank Stadium was one of them.

It was a quick stop to see this really beautiful stadium. As someone who loves to photograph architecture, I could easily spend at least four hours here.

I couldn’t resist the multiple angles, lines and reflections. What a fantastic space to explore this type of photography.

Did I mention reflections? Angles? Lines?

This is the Horn Monument at Medtronic Plaza.

The sculpture was designed by Alliiance, a firm of planners, architects, and interior designers. It was created to resemble the Vikings’ famous Gjallarhorn. It is 25 feet high and 107 feet long.

The monument’s steel intertwined ribbons were hand-crafted in pieces by MG McGrath Company which specializes in the design, fabrication, and installation of architectural surfaces. It was then shipped to the stadium in 16 separate pieces.

This is so much fun to photograph!

I titled this on Altered Reality. The number of reflection photo opportunities here is mind-blowing.

Another view of the stadium entrance. This image has it all!

I used to travel to Minneapolis quite often and I miss it. Our friends still live there and we’ll be heading up to visit again, it’s been too long.
