Austin Architectural Reflections #7

A modern tower clad in warm limestone turns its corner toward the camera, its grid of tinted windows each holding a warped, fragmented reflection of the older brick building opposite.

The reflected facade multiplies across the panes like an image seen in a shattered mirror — recognizable as architecture yet dissolved into something abstract, each window offering a slightly different reading of the same source.

The palette of Austin Architectural Reflections #7 is entirely of the Texas earth: terracotta, sandstone, copper, and sienna, the warm tones of both buildings merging in reflection until old and new become a single, unified field of color.

Novak finds in this corner of Austin a meditation on how cities carry their histories inside their newest surfaces, the past perpetually visible in the glass of the present.
